"Movement is life. Life is a process. Improve the quality of the process and you improve the quality of life itself"

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is an ancient form of healing that Eastern cultures have used to create and maintain good health for over 4,000 years. Vital energy, called "Qi" flows in our bodies along specific lines called "meridians," much like water flowing in a river. When Qi gets stuck along the way, blockages are created causing imbalances that present themselves in the form of pain, illness, and/or emotional distress.

Benefits

Acupuncture is used to treat a variety of conditions and, as with any form of complementary and alternative medicine, its effects are cumulative. Some of the benefits include:

  • Pain management: Acupuncture can ease both acute and chronic pain from whiplash to everyday neck tension. Muscle pain caused by conditions such as TMJ, carpal tunnel, sciatica, and fibromyalgia are treatable with acupuncture, as are sports injuries involving muscles, tendons, and ligaments. Acupuncture also relieves the general stress-induced- discomfort many people experience in the low back, upper back, shoulders, and hips.
  • Emotional and neurological health: Acupuncture helps people cope with issues so common in our society today: stress, depression, anxiety, addiction, and post traumatic stress disorder, as well as headaches, migraines, hormonal changes, and stroke recovery can be drastically improved through acupuncture.
  • Reproductive health: Acupuncture aids in the restoration of menstrual regularity and soothes menstrual cramping, bloating, and mood swings. It treats menstrual irregularity, endometriosis, and menopausal symptoms and is often quite effective in improving infertility rates.
  • Gastro-intestinal health: Acupuncture is good for restoring balance and regularity in the digestive system. Nausea, indigestion, acid reflux, ulcers, and irritable bowel syndrome are all treatable with acupuncture.
  • Circulatory and respiratory health: Acupuncture intervenes in these systems to normalize blood pressure and breathing patterns. It can help fight common colds and reduce the effects of allergies, sinusitis, asthma, and angina.
  • Long-term wellbeing: Because acupuncture treats the whole person, all body systems benefit from its approach to the body’s interconnectedness. From liver and kidney health to healthy sleeping and eating habits, acupuncture encourages overall lasting wellness.
